Glenn Koelbl brings an exceptional depth of coaching credentials and hands-on experience to FC South Bay. Coach Glenn is one of Long Island’s most dedicated and credentialed soccer development professionals, bringing deep roots in the local soccer community and a truly international coaching perspective to his work at FC South Bay.

A Long Island native, Glenn has been a staple of the West Islip soccer community for over eight years, serving as a coach, trainer, and Girls Technical Director for No Limits Soccer Academy (NLSA). He currently serves as Director of Coaches for the West Islip Soccer Club (WISC), where his enthusiasm for the game, commitment to player development, and willingness to work with athletes of all levels set him apart. Glenn has trained select teams both within and outside the club and works with players ranging from U9 through U17.

What makes Glenn stand out is his relentless pursuit of knowledge at the highest levels of the sport. He holds over 40 soccer coaching certifications, including some of the highest-level US Soccer (USSF Advanced National, Candidate for USSF National B), United Soccer Coaches Premier Level license, and international licenses (UEFA C) available, Glenn is also one of the a sleect few coaches who earned the prestigious Masters of Coaching Diploma through the University of Delaware and the United Soccer Coaches Association – a prestigious program that included training in Scotland alongside professional teams and coaches – and culminated in earning his UEFA “C” License.

A specialist in both team and goalkeeper development, Glenn has completed his Advanced Goalkeeper Diploma and is widely regarded as one of the premier keeper trainers in the region. His goalkeeper expertise extends to the collegiate level, where he served as both assistant and head goalkeeper coach for the nationally ranked Suffolk County Community College Men’s Soccer Team.

His commitment to learning extends beyond the classroom. Glenn spent time at S.L. Benfica in Portugal, studying the club’s systems, methodologies, and player development processes from a full-club perspective — an experience that continues to shape his player-centered approach to coaching.

As a Long Island native, Glenn understands the local soccer landscape and what it takes to help players reach their goals, whether that means continuing development locally, competing at the collegiate level, or pursuing opportunities within the professional game.

At FC South Bay, Coach Glenn brings that same passion and world-class training background to every session, helping players of all levels unlock their potential and love for the game. Glenn is available for individual and team training at all levels and is equipped to meet the goalkeeper training needs of teams, and individual players alike.
